Valeria Trust Profile
Rules for evaluating a JPEG Trust Indicator Set and producing a compact, understandable report about attribution, rights, digital source and provenance validation.
Purpose
Profile scope
This profile evaluates a JPEG Trust Indicator Set and produces a compact, understandable report about image attribution, rights, digital source, Valeria publication metadata and technical provenance validation.
Evaluation
Compliance semantics
jpt:profile_compliance means that all metadata required by this version of the profile could be retrieved. Image title is optional; the report value is null when no title was specified.
Controlled vocabulary identifiers remain present as URIs in the report. Presentation software may render a recognized URI with its human-readable label. For example, http://cv.iptc.org/newscodes/digitalsourcetype/trainedAlgorithmicMedia is presented by Valeria as “Created using Generative AI”.
Compliance does not claim that depicted content is true, that a rights declaration is legally correct, or that a signer is universally trusted.
Requirements
Required information
- gallery and collection;
- creator and creator organization;
- copyright notice, licence and rights holder;
- digital source type;
- Valeria curation level.
Output
Report structure
The compact section is intended for the primary Valeria interface. The extended section preserves supporting asset, rights and validation detail. Stable statement IDs and typed values form the interface; human-readable report text supports generic rendering.
Inputs
Indicator sources
The profile prefers standardized indicators from cawg.metadata, jpt.rights and C2PA validation results. The gallery.valeria.vmc assertion supplies Valeria-specific fields and current mapping gaps.
CAWG metadata, JPEG Trust rights declarations and C2PA validation results.
Compiled publication metadata for fields without a selected standardized mapping.
